DETROIT, Mich (WOOD) - Michigan veterans will have a great opportunity to find a new job starting June 26th.

The National Veterans Small Business Conference and Hiring Fair is taking place June 26-28 at COBO Hall in Detroit, MI. This is the largest nationwide conference of its kind and Veterans from all over Michigan should attend.

The National Veterans Small Business Conference is the premier event for Veteran-owned business. The conference provides over 200 training sessions and showcases nearly 500 Veteran-owned business booths.

The Veteran Hiring Fair and Expo are looking for Veterans, Service Members, and National Guard to come together and fill more than 24,000 available jobs in both the federal and private sector. The Fair will promote Veteran’s talents to potential employers as well as assist with resume preparation, interview techniques, and career coaching.

With over 800,000 unemployed in Michigan this job fair is a great way for Michigan Veterans to both showcase and improve their skills.

This is a free event, but proof of military status is required to enter. The following IDs will be accepted: military ID card, VA ID, VA hospital card, DD214, or benefits letter.

In addition, a Veteran Open House will allow Veterans to enroll for benefits as well as receive health screenings. The Open House will take place in Macomb Hall from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily.
