GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WOOD) - It was a night of great stories and even better collaborations. The Connecting with Community awards ceremony was held at the Gerald R. Ford Museum and honored all eight of the finalists. Each story was featured on the big screen followed by a certificate presentation.
Mary K. Hoodhood represented last years award winner, the Kid's Food Basket. She presented the winner of 2012 Connecting with Community Award, the Family Hope Foundation. They were voted on their collaborative effort, community outreach, success and overall impact.
Family Hope Foundation is all volunteer group that helps connect families with children with special needs with different resources in the West Michigan area.
For winning the Connecting with Community awards, Family Hope Foundation will receive production and airtime of a thirty second public service announcement that will run on WOOD-TV8, WOTV and WXSP.
