Awards Selection Underway

Thank you everyone for your nominations to the fifth annual Connecting with Community Awards. In the effort to highlight and recognize collaborative community partnerships, you've contributed the most nominations ever for this award.

All the nominations have now been sent to WOOD TV8's Connecting with Community partners. Associates at Huntington Bank, Metro Health Hospital, Art Van Furniture, Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids Community Foundation and Amway will read over all the nominations. We will select eight finalists based on the collaborative effort, the community outreach, the uniqueness and the overall impact of the nominee.

The eight Connecting with Community Awards finalists will be notified by the end of this week. The following Friday, 24 Hour News 8 will start airing a feature story about one of the finalists. After all eight stories have aired, WOOD TV8 will announce the Connecting with Community Award winner at a reception in May.
