Maranda's Park Parties kick off Thurs.

Season will open in Muskegon

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Maranda's summer park parties are kicking into gear as of Thursday.

    This year's parties take on special meaning as West Michigan families struggle in this difficult economy.

    This is 24 Hour News 8's effort to bring positive events to hard-hit communities such as Muskegon.

    The next stop on Maranda's list is Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park.

    Then, the parties will be hosted in Ionia, Garfield Park in Grand Rapids, Kollen Park in Holland, Upjohn Park in Kalamazoo, and the Allegan County Fairgrounds.
