GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A planned jump from a 70-foot platform into boxes by a Kalamazoo artist has been put on hold over safety concerns.
Artist Singh planned to jump from the top of the platform where he has been standing since ArtPrize began Wednesday. The jump, according to his plan on the ArtPrize Web site, was "to symbolize- he was part of the project, he was part of the dream, and now that he has accomplished his dream successfully, he will detach himself with a winner's spirit to move on to see another dream."
On the site, his jump was planned for Oct. 6. However, he wanted to jump at 11 a.m. Sunday until officials said he couldn't. There were too many concerns over the safety of the stunt.
24 Hour News 8 will continue to follow his story.
