Tony Tagliavia, Reporter

Tony Tagliavia joined WOOD TV8 in October 2007 after reporting for WILX in Lansing.

The Milwaukee native earned both bachelor's and masters degrees in journalism from Northwestern University. He gained experience during his college years as a Washington-based reporter for the CBS affiliate in Burlington, Vermont; as a reporter for the CBS affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky; as an on-air interviewer/host for the NPR affiliate in Milwaukee, and as a federal courts reporter for the Daily Herald and Daily Southtown in Chicago.

Over the years, Tony earned first-place awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for Best Hard News and Best Breaking News. He was also honored by the Associated Press for an investigation into the state's sale of citizens' personal information.

Though he'll cover many stories at WOOD TV8, education is his primary beat, and he also covers Kalamazoo County.

He lives in the Grand Rapids area.
