Terri DeBoer has lived weather all over the United States.

Born in New Jersey, kindergarten in "Tornado Alley", and much of the growing up years in the Big Sky State of Montana, she's also lived in South Dakota, Washington, Wisconsin and, since 1990, West Michigan.

Early in her career, she anchored the news, but her passion is weather and science. She returned to college to study meteorology, and became the first woman in West Michigan to earn the American Meteorological Society's Television Seal of Approval.

Since joining 24 Hour News 8 in 1995, she has kept West Michigan covered.  She loves to share her enthusiasm about West Michigan's ever-changing weather "on the air" and "in the classroom".  Terri is dedicated to encouraging young people to become enthusiastic about science and the weather. To that end, she frequently visits schools to give seminars about weather, as well as to promote math and science careers to girls.   Terri has twice been awarded the Best Weathercast by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.

She's worked with Cystic Fibrosis, Special Olympics, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Children's Miracle Network, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, G.R. Schools PEEP Program, Kalamazoo Junior League, MDA, the Grand Rapids Griffins Youth Foundation, the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, Ken-O-Sha, and many more.

Terri's most recent involvement comes through the Kids Hope organization, which has matched her with a 4th grader who she mentors for one hour each week.

Terri serves on the Board of Directors for the Grand Rapids Griffins Youth Foundation.

Her hobbies include driving the carpool, watching her kids play sports, golfing, cooking, reading, roller blading and bicycling.
