Marc Thompson joined 24 Hour News 8 in January 2006 following an award-winning five years in Indianapolis.

Marc earned a journalism degree from Indiana University and accepted his first professional assignment in Columbus, Georgia. He moved to Indianapolis in 1998, and over the next five years, earned three awards for live breaking news reporting, plus an Emmy nomination in 2001 while at WTHR.

His career took a different path two years later. He moved to Atlanta where he worked for Hendu Entertainment, a recording studio in the heart of the South.

Once again, though, his desire to be involved in stories that matter brought him back to television journalism, and here to West Michigan.

In addition to reporting, Marc currently anchors 24 Hour News 8 at 6pm on the weekends.

Marc lives in the Grand Rapids area and likes playing basketball, reading and watching movies.
