A native of West Michigan, Emily Linnert's first brush with fame came in 1980, when the Kalamazoo tornado tore through her west-side neighborhood. She survived that, as well as Michigan State University some years later.
After graduation, she was a morning news anchor at WLNS in Lansing, where she spent six years. After a brief stint working for a non-profit, Emily joined WOOD TV8 in the middle of 2006.
Emily Linnert is a co-anchor for 24 Hour News 8 Daybreak and 24 Hour News 8 at Noon.
Emily and her husband, a WOOD TV8 photojournalist, have two daughters.
