A Lansing native, Crystal Hilliard joined WOOD TV8 in August 2010 as a general assignment reporter.

A graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism, Crystal has traveled the world and worked in different locales.

She studied in Ghana, West Africa in 2006 and learned the language while there. The following year, she interned at NBC5 in Chicago, then moved to KOMU in Columbia, Missouri while she was still in college.

After graduation, she produced and reported for WAPT in Jackson, Mississippi. In her two years there, she covered hurricanes and coastal oil spills along with many other assignments.

Self-described as "talkative," Crystal Hilliard is excited to be back in her home state of Michigan.
