Grand Rapids, MI (WOODTV) - As the month of July comes to an end, Metro Health is gearing up for the celebration of it's annual Health and Wellness Day.
The event that will be held on August 1st has a lot to offer when it comes to community.
Starting out the day, free health screenings will be offered, where individuals can talk to Metro Health's experienced health professionals.
Metro Health will also have their Chef Cook-Off that not only offers a show, but samples of good quality food as well.
Set at 6:30 p.m. will be the annual Metro Way 5K, where all age groups are welcome to participate.
The goal of the run is to encourage family members to get out and move by running, jogging, or even walking in order to celebrate a healthy lifestyle. Awards will be given out to all kids that finish the race, and all participants can take place in raffle prices, games, and food.
All proceeds collected will go towards Metro Health's "free and low-cost" health programs and screenings created for the community.
