Grand Rapids, MI (WOODTV) - More than 200 volunteers from Amway, and Indian Trails Camp came together with organizers from KaBoom! to build a new playground at the Indian Trails Camp in Grand Rapids.
This is a special playground designed for children with disabilities, inspired by the campers back in April.
More than 275 children with disabilities at Indian Trails will now have a safe area to play. Kids spend less time playing outside then generations before partly because only 20 percent of kids live within walking distance of a playground or park.
Amway and KaBoom! have built 15 different playgrounds together. This is the 11th one in the greater Grand Rapids Area.
The playground at Indian Trails Camp is the first one in West Michigan designed for Children with disabilities.
