Tom Hillen joined the 24 Hour News 8 team in July 2010.
Tom earned his degree in Applied Arts in Broadcast Journalism and Cinematic Arts from Central Michigan University in June 2010.
While at Central Michigan University, he was an anchor and reporter for the university's News Central 34.
He parlayed an internship at WOOD TV8 into a part-time job, and was originally hired as the editor for Weekend Daybreak. Less than a year later he was promoted to Reporter.
Though he graduated from CMU, he is a big Michigan State University fan and, among many other assignments, covered the Spartans' basketball team in the NCAA tournament.
Tom loves to travel and has visited all 50 of the United States - the last being Kansas.
He enjoys reading and boating. A life-long resident of West Michigan, he grew up in Walker and graduated from Kenowa Hills High School. Tom currently lives in Grand Rapids.
