Sports Director Jack Doles has covered every major sporting event since joining 24 Hour News 8 in 1990.
He's covered Olympic games in Atlanta, Sydney, Athens and Torino. He's been at the Rose Bowl, the NCAA Final Four, the NBA Finals, the Ryder Cup and two Major League Baseball All-Star Games.
Jack won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award for sports reporting three consecutive years. He's also won five Emmys and numerous awards from the Associated Press and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
A graduate of Drake University, Jack began as an intern at the legendary WHO in Des Moines.
Jack is active in the community. He serves on the board for the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. He's a member of the board for the Positively Warren Golf Outing, a one-day event that annually raises over $200,000 for the Warren Reynolds Patient Information Center at St. Mary's Mercy Medical Center and the middle school athletic programs in the Grand Rapids public school system.
He and his wife, Susan, have four children.
